Travel Clinic
Providing Travel immunisations is not a standard NHS service.
Some travel vaccines are ordered on a private prescription and these incur a charge over and above the normal prescription charge. This is because not all travel vaccinations are included in the services provided by the NHS.
Ideally appointments for Travel Vaccinations need to be booked at least 6 to 8 weeks in advance of travel where possible. It is the patient/travellers responsibility to organise this, not the surgery. If this is not possible, late is better than never in most cases.
Please complete the Travel Request form available at reception and return it to us with as much detail as possible. Reception will then book you an appointment with a Travel Immunisation Trained nurse. Beforehand she will go through the information you have provided and check your clinical record to see which vaccines you will need.
If we need to order any additional vaccines in especially for your use, we will request that you pay for these beforehand. Likewise if you need to collect some vaccines that we do not hold in stock from a pharmacy by means of a private prescription we will inform you in good time so that you can do this and bring the vaccine to the appointment with you.
